Our Values

Here at Rustic to Refined, we are passionate about helping people find one-of-a-kind quality pieces for their home. We specialize in quite a variety of goods: unique antique collectables, home decor items and solid wood, hand-crafted Mennonite furniture that is unique in design, wood type and more. Despite our range, our staff prioritizes the highest quality of service and products for our customers. Providing a customized experience for every person who walks through our doors is essential to us.

Our Story

Our business began with 2 Grand Bend locals, Dale and Dianne Hayter, when they built their timber-frame barn storefront back in 1988. Starting with antiques, they eventually added new Mennonite-made furniture to the mix in 1990. In time, their son Todd and his wife Trina embraced the store as their own and obtained ownership in 2008. That’s us! We are the current owners of Rustic to Refined! We are proud to say that our store is still locally owned and family run. With the addition of our daughters to the team, we’ve been operating for 3 generations now and still love what we do! As big fans of all things old, odd or unique, we love seeing our customers share in that excitement. We often get labelled a “hidden treasure” by people who walk in our door and exclaim that they had no idea we have so much to offer! The hunt for that one special item never gets old :)

If you’re familiar with our business, you may have also known us by another name: Dale’s Antiques and Mennonite Furniture. As we’ve evolved over the years, we saw the need for a new name to better represent who we are. In 2023, we took the step and rebranded to Rustic to Refined! New name, same owners, still awesome!
